How your Business appears in the Directory

Your Business Profile is only part of your Directory presence

Your Business Profile contains information about your Business, but having a profile does not automatically determine everywhere that Business appears in the East Texas Locals Directory.

Directory presence also involves things such as the Categories connected to the Business, its Coverage Areas, and the features or benefits currently available to it.

That is why your Business Profile can be accurate even when you still have a separate question about where the Business appears in the Directory.

Categories and Coverage Areas help determine where customers find you

Categories describe the type of Business, service, or subject a Directory listing belongs to.

Coverage Areas describe the areas of East Texas Locals where a Business is eligible to participate or appear.

Those two pieces work together, but they are not interchangeable. A Business may be connected to more than one Category or Coverage Area when its current ETL setup allows it.

Other ETL features may affect your presence

The features and coverage available to a Business can come from its Membership and, when applicable, other East Texas Locals relationships or approved benefits.

Programs such as Featured and Official Partner may add their own benefits, but neither term simply means “listed in the Directory.” They are separate parts of the East Texas Locals experience.

If your Business seems to be missing

If you expected your Business to appear somewhere in the Directory and cannot find it, first review the Business information, Categories, and Coverage Areas available to you.

If everything appears correct but the Directory still does not look the way you expect, contact East Texas Locals Support with the Business name and where you expected to find it.

Support can then look at the specific Business rather than making you guess which setting may be involved.
