Why ETL manages your Official Partner Category

The Category tied to an Official Partnership is protected and managed by East Texas Locals. It cannot be changed like an ordinary Directory Category from the Business account.

Your Official Partner Category is part of the partnership

An Official Partner Category is not just another Category selected on a Business Profile.

It is the protected Category designation connected to the approved Official Partner relationship between the Business and East Texas Locals.

Because only one active Official Partner can hold an approved Partner Category at a time, ETL manages that protected designation separately from ordinary Directory Categories.

You cannot change it through normal Category editing

Business Owners and Managers may have access to ordinary Business and Directory management features, depending on their role and the features available to the Business.

The protected Official Partner Category is different.

It is not something a Business should expect to replace, remove, or switch using ordinary Directory self-service controls.

Claiming or managing the Business does not transfer control of the Partner Category

Even after the Business account is fully connected to its Owner or Managers, the protected Official Partner Category remains managed by East Texas Locals.

That helps preserve the one-Partner-per-Category structure and prevents an accidental Category change from affecting an active partnership relationship.

Ordinary Categories remain separate

Your Business may still have ordinary Directory Categories in addition to its protected Official Partner Category.

Those ordinary Directory Categories and the Official Partner designation serve different purposes and may follow different management rules.
