What are Coverage Areas?

Coverage Areas describe where your ETL presence applies

Coverage Areas are the geographic groupings East Texas Locals uses when determining where a Business participates or can appear within the platform.

You may also see Coverage Areas referred to as Territories.

They help ETL organize Directory coverage across the communities and areas served by the platform.

A Coverage Area is not the same as your physical address

A Business location tells customers where a Business is physically located.

A Coverage Area describes where that Business has ETL Directory coverage.

Those are different things.

For example, adding or changing a Business location does not automatically give the Business additional Directory coverage. The Business’s available Coverage Areas are handled separately.

A Coverage Area is also different from your service area

A Business may serve customers across a wider area than the place where it is physically located.

That stated service area can be useful Business information, but it does not automatically determine the Business’s East Texas Locals Coverage Areas.

In other words, saying that your Business serves a particular community does not by itself add that community to your ETL Directory coverage.

Categories answer a different question

A Category describes what kind of Business or service is involved.

A Coverage Area describes where that Business participates or appears within ETL.

You normally need to think about both when trying to understand a Business’s Directory presence.

If your Coverage Areas don’t look right

Review the Coverage Areas currently available for the Business and make sure you are looking at the correct Business.

If you believe a Coverage Area is missing, incorrect, or unavailable when it should be available to your Business, contact East Texas Locals Support with the Business name and the area you’re asking about.
